If I could buy some more processing space in my head and heart to deal with it all quickly, I would. The really big insights and actions are still on their way down the mountain from Thredbo, and I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll catch up with them in the next lifetime or so.<\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;ve been off gazing into the future, it looks like there&#8217;s been some interesting developments in library blogland.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My esteemed colleague, <a href=\"http:\/\/reddirtlibrarian.wordpress.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carolyn<\/a>, has left <a href=\"http:\/\/wwwlib.murdoch.edu.au\" target=\"_blank\">MPOW<\/a>, taking 13 years of IT and organizational knowledge with her. Not good. But &#8211; she&#8217;s sharing some of that with us all via her new blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/reddirtlibrarian.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Red Dirt Librarian<\/a>. Good. With a <a href=\"http:\/\/reddirtlibrarian.wordpress.com\/2007\/02\/17\/hello-world\/\" target=\"_blank\">first post<\/a> ending in &#8220;let&#8217;s share&#8221;, and a second one describing <a href=\"http:\/\/reddirtlibrarian.wordpress.com\/2007\/02\/19\/models-for-managing-it-in-libraries\/\" target=\"_blank\">Models for Managing IT in Libraries<\/a>, I think all she needs is a few comments and she&#8217;ll be hooked.<\/li>\n<li>If you can&#8217;t get to <a href=\"https:\/\/librariansmatter.com\/blog\/2007\/02\/08\/blogging-the-official-version\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jessamyn West&#8217;s sessions next Friday 2 March<\/a>, and you&#8217;re feeling all library mentorish &#8211; you could catch up with her that night at a Graduate Mentoring Program social event at  6pm at Hotel Northbridge (cnr Lake &amp; Brisbane St,Northbridge).<\/li>\n<li>Looks like planning for a library unconference in Western Australia is beginning to speed up.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sirsidynix.com\/Newsevents\/Releases\/2007\/20070216_sommers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">CEO of SIRSI\/Dynix resigned.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/techessence.info\/node\/83\" target=\"_blank\">Roy Tennant<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blyberg.net\/2007\/02\/16\/strategery\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Blyberg<\/a> made an open plea to ILS vendors &#8211; and their customers &#8211; to embrace change and survive.  <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.talis.com\/panlibus\/archives\/2007\/02\/a_good_time_to.php\" target=\"_blank\">Richard Wallis<\/a> from Talis responded.<\/li>\n<li>While we all joke about Web3.0, this article from the <a href=\"http:\/\/lifeboat.com\/ex\/about\" target=\"_blank\">Lifeboat Foundation<\/a> uses the term to try to engage with what a more intelligent web would be like &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/lifeboat.com\/ex\/web.3.0\" target=\"_blank\">The third generation web is coming<\/a>.  Q. What does Web3.0 have in common with Web2.0? A. Dumb name &#8211; significant concepts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whewwwww!
