Random thing 8 from the list I made last Thursday:

8. My secret vice at the moment is watching YouTube clips that people have made of Johnathon Coulton’s Code Monkey – like:

Now to tag eight folk with the “Random Eight” meme – tradtionally done as just one post. If you don’t “do” memes, just turn the other way:

  1. Mike Spiff Booth’s WOW one is definitely the best. Thanks for the list, my boys and I viewed and compared them with interest.

I enjoyed the boys joining me in evaluating different aspects of music video: creative interpretation of lyrics, effective use of special effects, continuing theme but not repeating footage for chorus…

Which video did you discover first and how?

Hi Mica. My Co-Pilot sent me the “red squishy heart” one, and then I found the WoW one next. When I posted that one on twitter, someone sent me a link to another WoW/Coulton clip, Betty and Me. If you are getting slightly obsessive about it all, check out the ukulele version in duet with John Coulton.

I do get really bugged by the product placement in “Code Monkey”, which I was giving the benefit of the doubt until I saw this Granny Teller Mashup clip . Evil M**nt**n D*w. If I drank it, I’d be boycotting it.

    Hi Kathryn

You have me hooked! Love the girl in the pjs and my daughter, a big anime fan, just loves the anime one!

Hmm..we watch these kinds of things with our kids too….if you received this in your aggregator, you would have seen that for the first 18 hours or so, the clip in the post was the “Clockwork Orange” one. Then I reconsidered the family audience for which I obviously write and put in the cutesy PJ one.

By the way, what you didn’t realise, Tania….is that you can be tagged in comments, too. That’s it…you’re tagged…..you too, Mica…and your offspring….

I have tried to answer you in my blog (with an English version), and I have tagged a friend.

    Funny game!
