It’s not an iPhone..but I like it

OK..so I can’t have an iPhone until January 2008 here in Australia, but I can be happy with what my Co-Pilot brought back with the shopping today.

(Didya know the iPhone has no buttons at all…..?)

(And if you turn the screen sideways, the display changes to landscape….?)

(I’m happy with what I’ve got..I am…really..)

Anyhow..I sent him out to get one of these:

Seagate 2.5GB pocket hard drive

Because I’d borrowed the 5GB version from a friend and I now need something bigger than my 2GB thumbdrive. I use my work laptop and home PC about 50/50 and keep backing one up to the other and driving myself mad trying to find files.

Anyhow..he told me that for about twice the price I could by one of these, like my friend’s one:

Seagate 5GB pocket hard drive

But mentioned that for the same price I could get this:

60meghd.JPG

It’s a teeny weeny 60 GB hard disk. It’s powered from the USB port, so no chunky power adaptor to cart around…just something a little bigger than my PDA.

It’s mine now. I’m happy.

(Until the iPhone comes to me anyhow).

This one was half price at Officeworks. I can pick one up for you if you’d like. Please let me know.

The Wii…well yes, it’s on my list of good toys. At the top actually.

But after being sucked into the Sims, and now Second Life..I know that I’d never stop fiddling with it. And jumping about. And moving my body. And getting fit. And bonding with the kids. Hmmmm….

It’s the same reason I’ve been avoiding World of Warcraft.

So much fun to be had, so little time to fit in obsessions.

Thanks Kathryn, but we will be down this week.
I have a mii on the wii sort of like a little avatar(mini me..lol)….my daughter has 20 as that is one of the main attractions for her.
The sports package gets you moving and I am ace at bowling, something I haven’t done for years! The other games are not so active, it depends on the package. Have a great day..

    Hi Kathryn,
I love seeing what new ‘toys’ people have got. I’ve been researching an external HD for a while now cos, like you, the thumb drive just isn’t enough anymore.
Haven’t decided which one to get yet, but my beloved was generous with my birthday present: a Logitech “VX Revolution “ Notebook mouse

Gentle reader, Sian showed me her new toy in return for a peek at my hard drive. Gee it was niiiiiiice.

Her mouse has an ejectable radio transmitter stored in the base. When she wants to use it, she plugs it into the USB port of her laptop and the mouse (which has its own battery) transmits to that. No wires at all.

And an “in text” search button, where you can highlight a bit of text in any document, then select the “search” button and it will search google for the item.

So many gadgets, so little time.
